TAKE ME/BREAK ME

'TAKE ME/BREAK ME' is an artwork expressing the memory of the lost 'Caledonian Forest' or 'Wooded Heights'. The echoes of the cracking branches interrupt the serene surroundings, reminding us of the human manipulation of the natural world.

The soundscape is partnered with a painted wall hanging of the imagined forest and a collection of snapped, painted branches in a clear container on the floor. The branches have tags on them reading "TAKE ME BREAK ME" on one side, and on the other is the link to this soundscape.

The viewer can listen to the sound of the branches breaking whilst breaking their own and being watched by the memory of a lost forest.
